Message From The Elders of North Liberty Christian CHurch
On February 12, 2023 Tim Stewart announced that NLCC was beginning the process of looking for his replacement as he prepares to step away from the Lead Pastor position. Since that announcement the leadership has been in continuous prayer and fasting to seek God’s will for the future of this church. After interviews, conversations, and meeting with his family the leadership of NLCC has extended an offer to Aaron Lax.
Introducing
Aaron Lax
“My heart for ministry and passion for leadership align deeply with the vision of your church, and I am excited about the possibility of walking alongside your community to bring the hope and healing of Jesus to a world in need.
We are excited and passionate about being a part of a local church that’s healthy and thriving and wants to make an impact in the community that they are placed in. Additionally, we love a church that’s seeking to make the name of Jesus famous throughout the rest of the world! We believe that the Hope in the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important message we could possibly carry.”
The Lax Family
“I have been blessed with a wonderful family that shares this same heart for ministry. My wife, Joanna, and I have two amazing kids—Katja (age 11) and Kohen (age 8)—and have also been foster parents, which has been a profound way for us to live out our calling to care for the vulnerable.”

On April 13th, Aaron will lead in a time of teaching for our Sunday Gathering. A Congregational Affirmation Vote will take place following worship. Following a successful vote, Aaron will begin full time ministry at NLCC in June.

Your elders have laid out a path that we believe sets Aaron and NLCC for future success. This plan will allow Aaron and his family the chance to set their roots in the community and build relationships with all of you before he leans heavily into the expectation of leading at the full capacity.
A steady transfer of pastoral, teaching, and leading responsibilities will take place over the course of two years.
